"I use Natural Balance /Dick Van Pattern. They don't test and they have a vegan formula".
" My hobby is researching stuff, and I've been thinking about dogs a lot lately. Anyway, here's the PETA no test link again, and here's what I've found out about some companies not listed. Obviously, this information applies to cat food as well as dog food.
1. Nature's Recipe: does test and maintain animals for feeding tests. Owned by Del Monte.
"Our animal care center has served as a model for other multi-animal facilities. We are governed by an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) which includes members that are outside of Del Monte. This committee insures that we comply with the Animal Welfare Act and all other regulations."
2. Breeder's Choice: does not test. Chose not to respond to PETA's survey.
"As for animal testing, it is fairly informal. We give new products to
employees, retailers, and shelters to feed to their pets and report back about the performance (taste, stool volume, skin and coat condition, etc.)."
3. Eagle Pack: does not test. However, the "breeders" part of the following kind of freaks me out.
"We do not do any testing on laboratory or caged animals, nor do we have a kennel facility. Food related palatability trials are done with breeders or as in-home trials."
4. Old Mother Hubbard (including Wellness and Neura): does not test.
"The only tests we conduct on our products are feeding trials, where dogs/cats are fed our product for a period of four days. What we want to find out is "how they like the food". These tests are conducted in kennels, which are approved by the Humane Society. Our tests are feeding trials only. Animals are not subjected to surgery or any other procedures."
5. Nutro: does test. No surgical tests are conducted by Nutro, or on Nutro's behalf.
The feeding trials, by the way, are required for all pet food companies. I think the qualifier is whether the animals who taste the foods are contained as test subjects. A lot of companies mention four day taste trials at animal shelters, which I don't think I personally object to. I hope this helps someone!"
"Good news! Canidae and Felidae are not tested"
"Castor & Pollux "
"Wellness"
Если кто напишет перевод, буду признательна. Общий смысл конечно понятен, но хочется конкретики
